The New Forest

WALKING

One of the best ways to explore Hampshire is to leave the car behind and discover the numerous footpaths in the area, one of which runs through the pub car park.

The Test Way which follows the valley of the River Test for much of its length with water meadows and fields to enjoy is close by.

The Clarendon Way links Winchester and Salisbury and crosses the Test Valley

The New Forest is actually very old and is a wilderness of heathland and forest that is home to large herds of wild Deer and New Forest ponies and donkeys.

If you plan to be out for the day we can provide Ordnance Survey maps and picnic hampers.

CYCLING

There are a number of excellent cycle ways including off-road cycle routes, mountain -bike trails and other routes using mostly quiet country lanes.

Nearby is the Test Valley Tour, a gentle cycle ride of approximately ten miles, which uses part of the National Cycle Network
