Drinking … why beer matters
“Our distant ancestors, the cave men and women, had the campfire. They would gather there, they lived around it and socialised around it, they learned their life skills in its glowing, flickering flame. It was the centre of the community, the source of warmth, the source of heat to cook, the place where stories were told and learning happened. We don’t have camp fires, we have the pub.” (Mark Dredge)

The Star Inn serves as a meeting place for locals and a tranquil place to stay.
Inside there's beams, cosy cubby holes for books and ornaments, open fires and a light, bright dining room.
Outside is a pretty courtyard garden with a giant chess set. And behind the pub, the village cricket green.
A public footpath runs right through the car park too which makes it ideal for ramblers, cyclists and explorers alike!
The menu offers a choice of delicious lunchtime and evening meals with daily changes and you can choose to eat in the bar or informal dining room. Well-behaved children are most welcome at lunch times.
Dogs of the well behaved and on-the-leash variety are welcome in the bar and bedrooms. Please bear in mind we have a cat who makes the occasional appearance outside.
The Star is a place to spend time, sit by the log fire with a book, mug of coffee or pint of local ale and relax. You'll find an eclectic collection of books, newspapers and board games to help you wile away the day.
