Ghosts at The Star Inn?

JULY NEWSLETTER

Do you believe in ghosts?

Well we were a bit sceptical at first when we were contacted recently by the Southern Paranormal Group who wanted to investigate the Star Inn. Unknown to us one of our customers had reported a ‘sighting’.   We agreed they could come and so one Sunday evening a group of six ‘Investigators’ came along to do a mini-investigation.

Three areas were investigated – the main bar, the dining area at the top of the bar and the Dining room.  The group split into three teams and spent some time in each area.  They brought thermal imaging equipment, cameras and recording equipment.  The members of the group had been told that someone had contacted the group’s website but were not told anymore than that and neither were we.   It was an interesting evening (thanks to Liane & Daniel for coming along to support us) We waited in anticipation for the report on the evening.  Each team member sent us a short resume of their experiences.

Gill says ..

“I was working with Julie and Maria and for our first vigil we worked in the restaurant area with one of the guests, Liane.  With an old building and wooden furniture one would expect a number of spontaneous creaks and other various noises.  However the room was extremely quiet.  In this room I sensed two men walking around.  One side of the table was experienced to be colder by whoever was sitting there.  This was verified by the digital thermometer which read a degree or so colder.  We picked up on a male energy and I had a sense that this man had lived or worked on local farmland and had connections with the RAF and wartime.  The table we were sitting around was circular and we had placed equipment in the centre of it.  At one point I heard a movement across the table as if one of the pieces of equipment was being pushed.  Julie leapt up from her seat as she felt the item fall.  It turned out to be Julie’s camera on the floor.  None of us had intentionally moved the camera.  There is a chance that it might have been knocked or pulled by some other movement but we were unable to verify what had happened”

We have since been told by the group that a customer saw a lady a few feet in front of her for a few seconds and then the woman turned towards her and simply disappeared.

The names George and Isobel have come up.  Do you know whether anyone by these names lived or worked at The Star Inn?  We’d love to find out more.

The group will be returning for a more in depth investigation.   If you would like to come along and join us please let us know.

ANYONE FOR CRICKET?

Well done to East Tytherley Cricket Club

They have been on a winning streak of late

& we hope it will continue for the rest of the season.

Do you play cricket?  We’re looking to field a Star XI for a friendly against E.T.C.C. so if you’re an ex-cricketer (even if the last time you played was for your school) or would just like to have a go let us know.  It should be a good day’s fun
